King Salmon Fishing

Alaska salmon fishing. In May, the first spawning King salmon arrive, which is followed by massive numbers of Chum, Pink, Sockeye, Silver and feeder King salmon. In June, Juneau's generous local catch limits can include four King salmon/person per day, with no annual limit! The majority are under 18 lbs., but some reach up to 60 lbs.

Silver Salmon Fishing

In mid-July, Coho (Silver) salmon are plentiful and known as one of the best fighting fish per pound of the salmon family. Silver salmon can reach weights of over 20 lbs. and Pink (Humpy) salmon up to 10 lbs.  Sockeye (Red) Salmon aren't as naturally aggressive when caught on sportgear but typically weigh-in at 4 to 6 lbs.

Halibut/Rockfish Fishing
